You need to contact your state board of nursing to find out fees and what you need to do to reinstate your license. I recently moved to Arkansas from Florida and I am going through the same process.

My husband was killed in 2003 fighting for our country in Iraq when he was killed, so i didn't go back to work and my license ran out. I have tried and tried to find a way to get them back and thats when i found out today that you do have to call the state board. I was told that i had to take the test over again. I'm very happy that i can do this. It puts me back a little by having to retake the test but it will be well worth it.

My sincere sympathy for you and I urge you to go ahead and move on go forward one step at a time. Keep calling the board where you submitted your renewal it happens sometimes and it happened to me I am in California I send me renewal with Confirmation Reciept but still they say they have not recieved it until I spoke to one very nice lady at the boards office and we stayed on the phone for almost an hour she faxing me the form and me faxing it back to her just to be sure she gets it and I had my License delivered in 3 days by mail. So keep calling them and take notes of the peoples name you talk. Goodluck

Where you first acquired your license is where you can address your verification here in California CNA licenses are issued by the Dept, of Health Services, maybe the same dept. with you that's where you call.

Did you say you got your license from the State of Texas, then you renew or inquire with them too if you just have to apply for renewal or re-take the test here in California we have to have 48 hours of CEU to renew for another year but it it expired for less than 2 years you still can apply for renewal more than 2 yrs you have to re-take the test

You have to call the issuing department where you first acquired your CNA License they can provide you with the answer.

Because you are in NY, I don't know where you first aqcuired your CNA Certificate I am in California our issuing office is CA. Dept. of Health Services, so find out the issuing office and that's where you go to renew PLUS the 48 hrs. of in-service or CEU credits you have earned to renew that's the CA. requirement. I guess you have to re-take the CNA Training again, we offer the training but in San Diego. It is a 22 days combined Theory and Clinical training. there should be a phone number on your license or call the health dept of that state..i renew mine every year for wa state health dept. hope that helps !!

I cannot help you if I do not know where you originally got your certification, since you should renew at the same place too. Here in California CNA certifications are issued by the Dept. of Health Services so it is with them that our CNA's renew their certificates. You can call a nursing home ask them! To give you the number to call and verify your license and than it will tell you what to do. that is what I did

I was told I could call any nursing home and they will be able to direct me to a contact that will be able to help me further. I did find out if your license has been expired for longer than 2 years you have to re-take the course all over again...runs anywhere between $500-$700...Let me know if you have any headway

IF YOUR CNA LICENSE EXPIRED IN 2004 YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE CLASS AGAIN. YOU ONLY HAVE UP TO 90 DAYS PAST THE EXPIRATION DATE TO RENEW. THIS IS TRUE IN MOST STATES. I AM A CNA INSTRUCTOR.
